Park of the 1000-anniversary of Kazan is the youngest Park of the city, located near the waterfront of lake Kaban. Seedlings of the trees in the Park were planted by the participants of the CIS summit and the guests invited to the celebration of the 1000th anniversary of the city.
The main alley of the Park demonstrates the centuries-old way of development of Kazan. The heart of the Park is a large fountain, in the style of a boiling cauldron. The shape of the fountain is called omizutori power, infinity and the origin of the city. Near the fountain there is a monument to the philosopher and poet Kul Gali.
From the fountain departs numerous alleys planted with a variety of vegetation such as fir, Linden, oaks, chestnuts, Rowan, birch and flower beds. The paths are paved. The Park area covers an area of 5 hectares, across the square is a bronze guards of Zilant (a mythological creature in Tatar legends, taking the form of a dragon). This is a great place for walks, celebrations and leisure activities. Around the Park from either side are seen the beauty of new and old buildings in the city.
People Park better known as "Millennium Park", named after the open at the same time bridge. In addition, the couple has a new tradition – they come here and throw in the fountain coins, and make a wish.
