Ostankino television tower is a remarkable creation of construction equipment of the 20th century. The TV-tower, the height of which in the moment of completion of its construction amounted 533m, was built in Moscow by the project of engineer-designer Nikolai Vasilievich Nikitin.The weight of its base is 55,000 tons; the tower is 540 meters (1999) high, which is about 300 m more than the building of the Moscow State University on Lenin hills and 215 metres higher than the famous Eiffel tower in Paris.
