Dear Lucy,

 I don’t think that now most of  Russian teenagers  enjoy reading.   They prefer watching TV and playing computer games. Nevertheless for some teenagers reading is the most interesting thing.  Teenagers are fond of reading different kinds of books. Some of them  enjoy reading detective stories, adventure stories, novels, biographies, other prefer classics. Popular books now in Russia are  “Harry Potter” and “Twilight”. “Harry Potter” is a series of seven fantasy novels written by the British author J. K. Rowling. The books is the adventures of a wizard, Harry Potter, and his friends Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger. They are students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.  “Twilight”  is a series of four vampire fantasy  novels by American author Stephenie Meyer. It is about Isabella "Bella" Swan, a teenage girl who falls in love with a 104-year-old vampire named Edward Cullen. I think you know these books. If not I advise you to read it. I like reading too.  I like to read different kind of book it depends on my mood. Unfortunately I don’t have much time for reading.

Thanks for your letter. It was great to hear from you.
As for reading, a lot of young people stopped reading ordinary books, because of the internet. And it is very sad. However, a bit number of young people, as I, still enjoy reading.
To my mind,popular writers for Russian young people are Bernand Werber, Paulo Coelho, Mayne Reid. So, Russian youth mostly enjoy fantasy and drama.
As for me, I enjoy drama and dystopia, especially dystopia "Metro 2033" and its sequel "Metro 2034" by Dmitry Glukhovsky.
