Hello everyone! I'm a student studying in the UK for two years already. My old friends usually ask me to advice them films they can watch in order to improve their English, and now I'm going to share one of them with you. I prefer comedies and recently I've watched a nice one that I really enjoyed. It is 'The Englishman who Went up a Hill but Came down a Mountain' (1995).
The best thing about that film is that the director has succeeded to show the mentality of those village people - their witness, their common touch and their cheerfulness. To add, the acting is brilliant. The worst (although I wouldn't use this strong word) thing about the film is that all the characters except two Englishmen speak with Welsh accent or even in Welsh language, so it may be hard to understand them.
The film has really impressed me, although, in my opinion, 'The King's Speech' (2010) is a better film as it also deals with history but the main character's spirit is stronger.
That's all for now, I hope my review's been helpful for you.
