The Eurostar is a high-speed train and was launched in 1994. It is said to be the fastest train in Europe and was built to link the UK, France and Belgium. In 1996 a second train station was opened in Ashford in Kent. In 2007 most of Eurostar servieces were moved from Waterloo International to St Pancras, London.
Many records were broken by Eurostar. In 2003 it was recorded as the fastest in the UK. It has since broken the record for the journey between Paris and London. The journey is now done in less than two hours four minutes.
