type of performing arts; the play, the content of which is embodied in musical and choreographic images. At the heart of the classical ballet performance lies a certain plot, dramaturgical thought, libretto, in the 20th century a plotless ballet appeared, the dramaturgy of which is based on the development laid down in music. The main types of dance in ballet are classical dance and characteristic dance, which, starting from the XIX century, include folk and national dances, reworked for performance in a ballet performance. An important role is played by pantomime, with the help of which the actors convey the feelings of the characters, their “conversation” between themselves, the essence of what is happening, and in many performances also the grotesque.
