Last summer I had wonderful holidays. I spent them at my grandparents'. The weather was nice. It seldom rained, so we spent much time out of doors. My granddad taught me to swim and to dive. Besides, we went fishing together. My granny likes picking up berries, so I helped her with pleasure. We went to the forest and picked up strawberry. It was very tasty. In the evenings we played basketball with our friends. I could play with them hours. When it was time to leave for home I was a little upset. Next year I will go to my grandparents again.

It was a nice winter day. Den and Martin decided to skate on the lake not far from their house. Both friends skated very well and spent great time on the lake. It was about two o’clock when  Martin went ahead. The ice broke and Den fell to the water.  Martin tried to save his friend.  He took off his scarf and threw it to Den. Den seized the scarf and Martin took his friend out of the water.  Fortunately somebody saw what had happened and called for help. When ambulance car pulled up, the boy were on the bank of the lake.  They stood there trembling with cold. Rescuers covered the boys by blankets to warm them up and sent them to the hospital.
