The
Beatles is
a British rock group founded in 1960 in Liverpool. The group, also
called the “Fab Four”, included John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison,
and Ringo Starr. The Beatles also experimented with several genres, ranging
from pop ballads to psychedelic rock. In the early 1960s, their enormous
popularity first emerged as "Beatlemania". After their break-up in
1970, they each enjoyed successful musical careers. Lennon was killed in
December 1980, and Harrison died in November
2001. McCartney and Starr are still musically active.
