Elena Gadzhievna Isinbayeva was born on June 3, 1982 in the city of Volgograd. Father - Haji Gafanovich Isinbayev, plumber, mother - Natalia Petrovna Isinbayeva, housewife. Elena had a standard Soviet childhood, the family did not live well, but this did not affect either Elena or her sister Inessa. Helen's enthusiasm for sports was echoed by her mother, as she herself dreamed of a sports career in her youth and even tried in vain to enter a sports institute.

At the age of 5, in 1987, Isinbayeva entered a sports school, where she began to engage in gymnastics. Alexander Lisovoy and his wife Marina, the deserved coaches of Russia supervised the training. After 2 years Elena comes to the Lyceum with a technical bias. In it, she studies until 1997. The next year, Elena enters the Olympic Reserve School, where she studies for 2 years. The transition to the pole session becomes a pure accident for Elena, and after only six months of training, Isinbayeva won the World Youth Games held in Moscow. In the next year Elena performs at the World Junior Championship and again wins, having improved her last year's result by 10 centimeters. The next championship passes for her no longer on such a high note, and as a result, only the 5th place in the European Junior Championship.
2000 starts for young Elena with another victory in the junior championship, and again she improves her previous result by setting a world record among juniors. Then Isinbayeva participates in the Sydney Olympics, where, however, does not pass to the final, failing all qualifying jumps. A year later Elena returns to the European Junior Championship and, recouping for her past defeat, takes the gold, once again, improving her result. 2001 turned out to be excellent for the career of a young athlete and in the end she was set a new world record among juniors, which was beaten only after 4 long years.
In 2002, the future athlete enters the local sports school, after which he receives a diploma of a teacher. In 2003 Elena takes part in the European Indoor Championship and the annual Sainsbury's Grand Prix in the UK, both tournaments are crowned with a victory and new records. In the same year, she takes part in the next World Championship in track and field athletics, but the results are extremely mediocre and as a result - the third place.
In 2004 he takes the World Indoor Championship gold, after a year he achieves the same result at the next European Indoor Championship. 2006 and again 2 gold medals, this time for the World Indoor Championship and European Championship. Next year and new gold is the World Championship in Osaka. 2008 takes on 3 significant events:
Another victory at the World Indoor ChampionshipsA new world record set for the Super Grand Prix in MonacoAnd most importantly - victory at the Olympic Games in Beijing, with a new world recordIn 2009, a small break was taken from participation in major tournaments, during which Elena is studying at the Faculty of Arts in Moscow State University. The next year begins with the fact that Isinbayeva defends her Ph.D. thesis and becomes a candidate of pedagogical sciences. Renewing participation in the championships, Elena goes to the final of the next World Cup, but fails in turn all the jumps. Participating in the XIII World Indoor Championship, again does not show a good result and now officially takes a break in his career for an indefinite period
