Ronald Wilson Reagan was born in 1911, February 6th. When his father saw him, he said: 'He looks like a fat little Dutchman. But who knows, he might grow up to be president some day'. And this happened in 1981. But before that Ronald Reagan worked as a lifeguard on a Rock River in Lowell Park and saved 77 people. In addition, he was an actor and had started as a commentator of sports event on small radio stations. In 1937 he got his first role in the movie called 'Love Is On The Air'. In 1964 Reagan became well-known as a politician due to his speech 'A Time For Choosing'.
During the president's terms Ronald Reagan was helding the economic policy called 'Reaganomics'. On the one hand, it can be considered as trickle-down economics (when only the rich can get benefits), on the other - as free-market economics. The income taxes were cut and this led to economic growth: inflation was reduced (from 12,5% to 4,5%) as well as unimployment (from 7,5% to 5,3%). However, the national debt grew to 2,85 trillion of dollars. So, the results are debatable.
