That year was indeed a royal one with the people of Her Majesty`s kingdom showing their admiration, respect and thanks for her 60 years
of dedicated service. The Queen was deeply touched. She said she would always draw inspiration from the countless kindnesses shown to her in the UK and
throughout the Commonwealth. One observer paraphrased the poet
Wordsworth: "Bliss was it that summer to be alive, but to be in London
was heaven." He was right.
