A new monument to John Lennon has been unveiled in Liverpool, where
the famous singer was born. It’s called “Peace and Harmony” and it is
(1)___designed__ by a 19-year-old American artist, Lauren Voiers.
The monument is in the shape of a (2)__globe___. The dove is holding a feather in its beak.
This feather is a very important (3)___element__ in the monument. When Lauren was working on the sculpture Lennon’s son Julian called her and asked if shecould find a place for a white feather in it. To Julian, it’s a symbol of his father’s (4) __spirit___. When John Lennon was alive, he told his son,“If I die, I’ll send a message that I’m OK in the form of a white feather”.
After their telephone conversation Lauren suddenly saw a small white
feather (5)__lying___ on her carpet in front of her. “I had never seen one in my apartment before and I did not remember seeing it before or during my phoneconversation. I (6)___knew__ at that moment: a message from John Lennon was sent to me,” the young artist said.
