HI John,
how are you there? I hope you are doing fine. You asked me in your letter to suggest you a good book to read. Well, there are so many good books. But I would like to suggest you a book written many years ago. It is "Professor Dowel's Head" by Alexander Belyayev. It is science fiction. But very many things that take place in it resemble our present life. The main character Professor Dowel was doing scientific research in the area of transplantation. He wanted to know if it was possible to keep alive a mind without a body. Finally his head was also used for such research. Many other characters appear in the book. Some of them are honest and relaible, some of them are greedy and selfish. Personal tragedies happen too. Somebody loses a lover. somebody loses a friend, and somebody loses his or her life. I always liked this book and read it many times. The book was written many decades before all these modern technological and scientific achievements in medicine. In my opinion the author predicted many of them. I hope you will like the book and we shall discuss it as soon as you read it. I hope you will be able to find it in English.
Bye for now,
Kolya.
