Some towns have banned fast food restaurants from opening closer than 400 metres to schools and parks. Is this a good idea?
Junk food has been a debatable topic from the moment it appeared. Of course, nobody denies how harmful it is for our health, for our body and for our morality, but everybody continues to like and eat it.
The biggest problem with the fast food is that it causes obsession. Once you tried it you will never be able to give up on it. An even bigger problem is that nowadays the young generation is totally addicted to this ”drug”. In America fast food is a normal component of a child's meal, which is alarming. In my opinion we should at least protect children, in order to ensure a healthy future. The decision of banning fast food restaurants from opening closer than 400 metres to schools and parks seems a good one to me. I believe this is a little thing, but nevertheless an important step in the developement of future generations. In this way children will be less tempted to go eat at McDonald's during the lunch break, choosing instead to eat something made by their mother, which is undoubtedly much more healthy. They will have a lot more energy if they eat a fruit instead of a burger, and they will never have the problem of obessity, stomach or heart diseases.
In conclusion, I believe that fast food could be a cause of disparition of our species if nothing is done. I think we should start with small but confident steps, in order to achieve something big, like the total disparition, or at least a better quality of the fast food products.
