UST-Kamenogórsk (Kazakh: Oskemen) is a town in the East of Kazakhstan, the administrative center of the East Kazakhstan region (1932). Founded in 1720 year . Prior to 1932, the city was part of Tomsk province, Omsk Oblast, Altai province of Semipalatinsk province of Altai mining district and the Semipalatinsk region. Originally called the fortress UST-Kamennaya. The city is situated at the confluence of the river Irtyšreki Ulba.
