The Old Kolomna is a must-see
part of the town: it has much to remember and much to tell. The Kremlin was
built in the 16th century. It is the museum open-air. The Kremlin
had 17 towers, 7 of which have been preserved up to the present. Marinkina Tower is one of them. It made of brick.
Tower’s height is thirty-one meters. Its diameter is eleven meters. Many years
ago this tower hag another name, Kolomenskaya. In 1611-1612 Marina Mnishek
lived in Kolomna. She was Lzhedmitriy the first’s wife and then she was
Lzhedmitriy the second’s wife. After expulsion of Poles from Moscow she had been shut up in the Tower,
where she dead. So people have named this tower Marinkina Tower.
