Once in winter Mom suggested, "Let's go skiing and sledding on Sunday to Solotcha. I hear from friends that whole families go there and have a good rest." We agreed, and at the nearest weekend went to Solotcha. There right in the wood on the banks of the River Staritsa is quite a high and steep mountain, which locals call Lysaia. Indeed, there were very many people, both adults and children. It is noisy there and a lot of fun! Some are shrieking slide downhill on their sleds, others on their the car floor
mats, and some - on the small pieces of cardboard which are popping up from under
the rider halfway the hill. A little further from the mountain foot there is a small pavilion. There you can eat and warm yourself up with a cup of hot tea. Nearby there are trails that lead into the woods - quiet and beautiful! Giant trees frozen in the winter torpor. Sometimes fluffy snow falls down from the branches. We had enogh time to ride on a sledge from the mountain top and to ski in the woods. We were under greatmpression from that winter's day.
