Liverpool is the largest city in the county of Merseyside. In 1207 it was founded as a village in 1880 and was granted city status. In England, the inhabitants of Liverpool are sometimes called "skauzerov» (scousers) - the name of the local cuisine - "Scouse" (potato stew). The local dialect is also called "Scouse". Numerous ports of Liverpool influenced the diverse composition of its population.
Thanks to "The Beatles" city is popular as a place of tourist pilgrimage. Liverpool since 2008, is considered the cultural capital of Europe.
