Chaplin
was born on April 16, 1889 in London, he was the son of music hall performers
His
parents - Charles Chaplin Sr. and Hannah Chaplin (on stage Lily Gurley) - were
stand-up actors. Mother sang songs and dancecl in various theaters.
Charlie
made his first appearance on the stage in 1894, at the age of five, replacing
his mother in the program of music hall . Later in 1898, he entered the
children's dance group "Eight Lancashire guys." It is interesting, that the later film critics called Chaplin’s film "the film-ballet." Charlie
rarely attended school, he worked as a seller of newspapers, doctor’s
assistant, a worker in the printing and
so on, but he did not stay long because of his young age.
Chaplin
was left-handed, and even played the violin with his left hand.

favorite sport was boxing.
