New Zealand is an island
country in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. The country consists of two islands.
They are the North Island and the South Island. It also comprises numerous
smaller islands.
New Zealand is situated
some 900 miles east of Australia across the Tasman Sea and roughly 600 miles
south of the Pacific island areas of New Caledonia, Fiji, and Tonga.
New Zealand’s capital is
Wellington, while the most populous city is Auckland.
Wellington is the second
most populous urban area of New Zealand with 393,600 residents. It is located
at the southwestern tip of the North Island.
The Wellington urban
area comprises four cities: Wellington City, Porirua, Lower Hutt, and Upper
Hut.
